Firefighters battle fire at Maple Street apartment building |


GLENS FALLS — 4 people today were being displaced by a three-alarm hearth at an apartment building at the corner of Maple and Oak streets.

The contact arrived in at about 6 p.m. for a report of a framework hearth at 165 Maple St. Heavy smoke could be viewed coming from the rear component of the multi-unit developing.

Glens Falls Hearth Lt. Ric Stafford explained about 16 firefighters have been on the scene. They had the fire beneath management in about a 50 percent-hour, but there was comprehensive overhaul. The fireplace was in the ceiling in that rear bedroom.
